Pilot Versus Production

Recently, I was put on a "Pilot" project at work. Over the years, I've always been one that can adapt to new technology. This time around, I guess the pain has outgrown the gain. Working in pilot mode with production data at a production schedule is not the thing to do. If I was the one administering this pilot with a customer, I believe the sale would not have gone through. Maybe I have been too good of a customer.

Tell me it's not my aging that's making my pilot program so difficult.

High Quality Image Resizing in ASP.net

I've been searching everywhere for a good way to resize images in ASP.net. So far, I have used every tip I could find.

- Set the System.Drawing.Graphics object property SmoothingMode to HighQuality

- Set the System.Drawing.Graphics object property CompositingQuality to HighQuality

- Set the System.Drawing.Graphics object property InterpolationMode to High

Unfortunately, I still see a good deal of artifacts created from the shrinking. I am seeking ideas and help. I am going from roughly 20Megapixel down to about 640X480. I am willing to try just about anything.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Kaspersky Internet Security

Recently, I had the opportunity to try out Kaspersky Internet Security suite. Actually, I should say, try to install. Mental note to self - Do not attempt unless ample time is available. When installing, it was nice enough to check for and suggest a newer release than the one from the CD. When I agreed to download, it took about 1 hour to download 70+MB. Either everyone else on the Internet was downloading, or they really have to think about upgrading their bandwidth. Obviously, after installation, it had to go through the virus definition file update. It took so long that I had to walk away. Maybe at some point in time, I can actually try and see how the software works.

First Entry on Blogger

What's this deal with blogging anyway? In the old days, we kept to ourselves. Today, we live in a society that craves to share our minds. Without this desire to be published, the Internet would be a pretty boring place.

I too have benefited from others' posts. I have started this blog, not because others blog. I have decided to try to take snapshots of things I've learn in hopes that others also benefit.

I am not here to teach, but to share.
